The Big Energy Savings Week began on Monday 22 January, led by the Energy Saving Trust, Citizens Advice and BEIS. The initiative encourages consumers to switch energy supplier, with a YouGov survey showing that despite the possibility of saving up to £300/ year, a third of people (33%) say they do not see the point of switching because they believe all suppliers are the same. Energy Savings Trust Chief Executive Philip Sellwood said: “The difference between the average standard variable tariff and the cheapest deal on the market is significant, but millions of households still aren’t accessing these savings.”
