Energy Systems Catapult has launched a new small- and medium-sized business (SME) incubator and accelerator to offer a route to market for SME energy innovators. Launched on Monday 18 March, the support will be offered by the Innovator Support Platform (ISP), with two innovation challenges to be announced each year, focused on the creation of a smart energy system. The first challenge will be titled Smart Heating and Cooling, and applications will close on 5 April. ISP Business Lead Paul Jordan, said: “Many UK innovators face systemic barriers preventing their products and services getting to market at scale. Yet innovation is crucial to transforming our energy system to meet carbon reduction targets; and heating alone accounts for over a third (37%) of UK carbon emissions.”
