Private-equity firm Gore Street Capital is reportedly aiming to raise £100mn from an initial public offering later this month. Bloomberg reported on Monday 12 March that the fund will be used to invest in large-scale batteries, making it the world’s first energy storage fund. Alex O’Cinneide, CEO of Gore Street Capital, said: “We have a first-mover advantage, investing in a high yielding asset class for which there is an increasing need. We expect that energy storage will increasingly be required to play an important role.”
