The Greater London Authority (GLA) has been granted an electricity supply licence and a derogation that will allow it to operate on a licence lite basis, Ofgem announced on Wednesday 20 December. npower will function as the third party licensed supplier, and will take on the obligations to comply with the four industry codes set out in standard licence condition 11.2. An application for the derogation was first received in February 2013, but the GLA did not submit its supplier service agreement until 15 December this year. The derogation is effective immediately.
