Consultancy the Energy Efficiency Verification Specialists (EEVS) has released a report covering UK non-domestic energy efficiency trends for Q1 2018. The figures show 60% of companies surveyed commissioned energy efficiency projects in the first three months of 2018. Despite a slight increase compared to Q4 2017 EEVS said the latest figure is part of a “notable step down in the volume of procurement over the last year.” In 2016 procurement did not drop below 65% for any quarter and reached a high of 80% in Q4. Measures to improve the energy efficiency of lighting continued to be the most popular and the report highlights “noteworthy gains” for smart building technologies, smart metering, and monitoring and targeting software.
